Thanksgiving in midsummer? No, but it certainly felt that way! One of the best weekends Muskoka had to offer all year! Afternoons were glorious. Kids played outside, some of them in the water. Boats were out, some just drifting while the occupants soaked up the rays. Sunsets? Magnificent! Some of the best we’ve seen in years.
It was certainly a memorable weekend – especially since some of us recall snow showers in the last 20 years. The Muskoka weather should continue too. Next weekend is Cranberry Festival in Bala. A great way to fete the little red berry that can add so much dash and colour to our festive occasions. Don’t overlook cranberry sausages, butter tarts, oatmeal cookies, lemon loaf and the list goes on. Cranberry Sherbet is a favourite too.
The Festival is a big hit and a great fundraiser for local charities. If you’re thinking of Muskoka next weekend consider a day in Bala.
