Most times of the year I can claim “THIS is my favourite time of year.” It’s true. Living in Muskoka is a wonderful experience. There’s definitely a seasonal change worth noting and enjoying. And, for the next 4 weeks, THIS is my favourite time of year.
For the next 4 weeks daylight is at its longest. We have enough light to read by until 10 pm and although some may find birdsong bothersome at 4:30 a.m., it’s wonderful to watch the dawn creep across the sky into full light an hour later.
Just as the dawn creeps across the sky so dusk lingers as the sun makes a long and slow farewell in the Northwest. That’s right! Northwest and it comes up again in the Northeast. Imagine living at 20 degrees and not 45. Light would linger thoughout the night.
This is my favourite time of year.
