Not quite the Dog Days, but still summery. Our heat wave has broken leaving the lake warm and luxurious. Today, with the cooler morning, mist curled its way skyward. Somewhere beyond the bay two loons laughed and closer to shore, a fish momentarily carved the surface of the lake sending gentle waves in circles. Looking down, I noticed the steam from my tea was shaped almost the same as lake mist. It was a quiet moment of connection.

There’s lots to do here and sometimes the best to do is sit and enjoy the quiet. Morning reflections, though, seem not to last as long as they did. Glass like surfaces call skiers to carve their own turns, making waves of a different kind.

Making waves is what cottage real estate has been doing this year.
