The day broke hard with snow whipping sharp from the North. End of April? Apparently not – at least for the morning. As morning skated into afternoon, sun broke through and white patches gave way to green. North wind did not let up. Standing on the dock, leaning against the draught felt a bit like snowmachining in a tee shirt. Cold soon turned to numb. Thankfully the fire inside was toasty and we could thaw at leisure.
Floor to ceiling windows, radiant floors and cheery fires make even the most challenging days look like not much more than a movie. But the occasional blast of wind rocked the glass and sent waves crashing over the dock to dissemble against boathouse walls. Whitecaps across the expanse of Lake Muskoka gave us the appearance of frosted meringue peaks moving in unison towards the shore.
Friday is supposed to be in double digits. I hope that’s the plus column.
There have been a number of pluses this week from the magnificent to the humble and the wonderful in between. Like the weather, our market has been variable of late.
