It’s started. Tips are turning.🍁 In some places whole branches are 🔥flaming red. Down our road there’s one 🌳tree which decided to strut its stuff early. Never thought of 🌳trees as being exhibitionists before. But this one will have done it’s full act🤸♀️ and be standing there in the altogether before any of its neighbours👨👩👦👦have given thought to getting ready for 🛌bed.
The other morning, shortly after sunrise🌅, we were travelling through the rock cut to Port Carling. We were at that point, at the top of the rise🌄, the whole valley below, to the hills beyond, was displayed. With the sun behind us, light danced on and off the🍁 leaves as they twisted in the morning breeze💨. The message was clear, with the shifting light, highlighting subtle changes, the forest’s decision was made. Greens were changing. Now there’s no stopping.
The next few weeks will lead us to a highlight🎇 an annual display of flame🔥, before covering the forest floor in a carpet of gold🍂.
