Phew! It’s over. The opening long weekend for Summer 2019 is in the history books. THE SEASON has started. Not the most summery of May 2-4 weekends we’ve had. For cottagers on the main course of the Muskoka Watershed, it was a weekend of work too.
Although water levels are approaching normal there is a lot of clean up to be done. Some of it cosmetic, some hunting for articles, docks and toys that floated away during high water, and for others the assessment of repairs needed to docks and boathouses. For the Watershed folks this has been a weekend of work.
Off the main course? Few problems. Many lakes have had water levels within normal ranges all year. Those cottagers enjoyed a normal, but cool May 2-4. Dock time has started. We even saw a few intrepid traditionalists in the water! You can’t beat dock time.
In part, because our real estate season was slowed by cooler wet weather, compounded by high water in the ‘shed, this last weekend was busy. We were playing catch up. This past week all 3 of us were involved in 2competitive offers and had a non-competitive offer as well. It’s pretty clear to us that if you find a property you like, decisions need to be made quickly and strongly. You can bet your top dollar, if you like a property, someone else will love it!
We’ve been working away on four other properties coming to market shortly. Last week we mentioned 4 acres on Lake Muskoka with SW views. We’re also bringing a 200’ lot to market on Brandy Lake, a cottage with sunset views at the top of Tobin Island as well as seasonal cottage on Joe. Stay tuned.
