Summer is back! This week is a classic September weather pattern for these parts. Earlier in the week we were showing property on some smaller lakes. Bright, cloudless day and absolutely calm. The only things moving were frogs, butterflies, fish jumping, deer and birds (including a large flock of turkeys). We were the loudest noise to be heard.

One of the questions arising from our chats that day related to timing of the market. From mid-September until the end of October is the busiest time of year for recreational waterfront after the spring rush. Sellers are leaving the lake for the last time and buyers are interested in securing a cottage for the holidays and next season. It’s a time when properties that haven’t sold often reduce their ask.
